Test Ticket Acquisition Drive

The New Zealand Breakers are a New Zealand professional basketball team based in Auckland, founded in 2003. The Breakers compete in the National Basketball League and play their home games at multiple venues, mainly Spark Arena.

Challenge

With the success of the previous NBL club ticket drivers New Zealand Breakers wanted to leverage Interplay’s white labelled trade desk solution to generate ticket sales across the Tasman.

There were certain caveats that needed to be adhered to, most notably the geo locations around the stadiums used by the club, which required a different geo ring-fence due to the transit times for the audiences in Auckland living on the north shore compared to the city.

Solution

Utilising the same prospecting and retargeting sets that served the previous NBL clubs so well, Interplay also deployed GameDay amateur basketball audiences as part of the retargeting strategy which yielded instant results.

Coupled with geo ring fencing locations for Spark Arena and Trusts Arena games meant we were hitting the correct core demographic within the correct region of the stadium.
